We deal with fixed-format books, meaning that what is on the screen matches what is on the screen. This is necessary for heavily-formatted pages, such as textbooks, training manuals, and yearbooks. We then take those digitzed pages (our proprietary system) and layer over interactivity, easily adding audio, video, testing and so on. Anything that can benefit from the addition of such elements, and the need to be available on every device, are projects that we may be able to help you with. Below are some examples of the products that we currently have on offer.
This is a simple demo of what a textbook may include (just a sampling of features)
There a 2 videos, numerous audio files, quizzes which are scored, and so on. Although this book resides outside of a Learning Management System, it is still possible to return results into our LMS (or yours!).
There are a number of options shown at the back, in the In-Place Web (IPW) section. See what can be done with Flash, HTML animations, and even YouTube. One thing to consider with this YouTube video is that only the video I want is shown, and not other "recommended videos", which can be problematic when dealing with students of varying ages.
This demo is online only, but the same features (except for web resources like YouTube) are part of the book, even offline. Scores will be recorded, and when an internet connection is available, all scores can be submitted to an instructor.
Everything that you would expect from a traditional textbook (audio, video, quizzes, blank-fills, printable exercises and so on) are elements which we specialize in. We ensure that every student, regardless of device, internet availability or economic level can gain access to these learning materials.
We have done a lot of Readers, with the far majority of them incorporating audio. This audio is for each page, and not as one, long track (which is much less convenient). Many of the Readers are bundled into Class Sets, which allows teachers to choose the series they want. Some of these can be found at DEC Pub.
Written by two of Canada's most-admired Olympians, the Great Traits’ mission is to provide the inspiration and foundation for people to succeed in competitive, performance-driven environments. This heavily formatted book contains 9 videos, enhancing the message.
The Hiragana Times is a venerable magazine, with the first issue arriving in 1986. Each monthly issue comes with approximately 160 audio files, plus a printable page for practicing Japanese. We make this available as an Academic Subscription to high schools and university in a number of countries around the world.
Above is just a sampling of what we can do. Besides being able to create a wide variety of digital products with many features, just as important is the time it takes to do (not losing sales cycles and ensuring that content stays relevant), plus the cost of creation. Our system allows us to digitze in days or weeks, and not in months or years. As a result, this allows costs to remain manageable (quite often free).
If you are considering your options, you owe it to yourself to find out how we can save you time, energy, pain (!) and money.
Piron Pub produces digital books and provides publishers, authors, and content creators alike the opportunity to take the materials they have created, and deliver them to a global audience, in an interactive, digital form. Depending on the need, we can add audio, video, and testing/tracking to enhance the book, and contribute to the learning experience. We come from a teaching background, ensuring that educational, teacher and student needs are attended to and maintained. Speed to market, pricing and scalability are primary movers for us. We also offer an LMS to tie everything together!
